Man charged over Melton woman’s death

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a 24-year-old Melton man with murder following the death of a woman in Melbourne’s west on Sunday night.

The 20-year-old woman’s body was in a Unitt Street home about 7pm.

Paramedics were called to a property and performed CPR but she could not be revived.

The man appeared before an out of sessions court hearing this morning and has been remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court today.

The two were known to each other.

Neighbours in the unit complex reportedly heard a woman’s screams and shouting on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
