Maddingley man jailed for child sexual abuse

A 28-year-old Maddingley man, has been sentenced to five years’ jail with a minimum of three years for inciting child sexual abuse and pornography offences, and will be on the sex offender register for life.

His charges included child pornography, committing an indecent act in the presence of a child and inciting another to commit an offence.

He can only be referred to by the pseudonym Dylan Haroldson.

His former partner, a 46-year-old Altona woman has been sentenced to a minimum of two years’ jail for penetrating a three-year-old girl and making and transmitting child pornography.

The woman, who can only be referred to in the media by the pseudonym Marlyn Moses, was sentenced to four years with a non-parole period of two years.

The County Court on Friday heard that Moses abused the child and then sent photos of the act to Haroldson.

She was a close friend of the child’s mother.

She has been placed on the sex offender register for life and must submit to a mouth scraping for the Victoria Police DNA data base.

The court heard that when Haroldson ended the relationship with Moses in March 2014, she tried to reignite it by talking in sexual terms about little girls including the three-year-old.

In July 2014, the child’s parents went away for the weekend and left Moses to babysit.

The court heard Haroldson was aroused by the potential.

He filmed the child playing naked with Moses while he sexually touched Moses

On September 11, 2014, Haroldson attended Bacchus Marsh police station to report as a sex offender.

Police found more than 2000 pictures on his phone and further analysis uncovered the Kik messaging account he used to contact Moses leading to the arrest of the pair.
