Melton council is holding a competition this year for the best Christmas lights and decorations in town.
The Melton Learning Directory Christmas Lights Competition is giving away prizes across three categories for the most traditional, colourful or energy efficient light display.
A competition panel will judge the competition with a winner selected for each category with each winner receiving a $250 voucher to a local restaurant.
Melton Mayor Goran Kesic encouraged residents to enter their displays in the competition.
“Every year residents go above and beyond decorating their homes and spreading Christmas joy to neighbours and passers-by,” Cr Kesic said.
“This a fun way to celebrate their efforts and the happiness these displays bring.”
The competition closes 5pm, December 13.
