Kurunjang man charged after shooting

Police have charged a Kurunjang man involved in a shooting incident in Melton.

The 38-year-old man has been charged with charged with attempted murder, reckless conduct endangering life, intentionally causing serious injury and prohibited person using a firearm.

The man handed himself into police on the evening of May 9 and was interviewed by police.

The charges relate to the alleged shooting incident of a 36-year-old Heathcote man in Melton about 3pm on May 7.

The victim is in hospital in a stable condition.

The charged man was due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning.
