It may be the depths of winter, but Bacchus Marsh is preparing for some Summer Nights as the new production of Grease hits town this weekend.

The latest community theatre production from Performing Arts Headquarters is promising all the favourite songs from the timeless musical, as well as an all local cast set to deliver a great night of Greased Lightning.

Director JohnPaul Cocking said he wanted to build on the success of last year’s production of We Will Rock You.

“Grease is probably one of the most popular musicals you can do,” he said.

“After doing all those great Queen songs last year, moving towards ’50s rock with Grease has been a lot of fun.

“We’ve got one of our biggest casts to date, over 60 just on stage, and we always try and make our shows family friendly and fun so it’s going to be a great show.”

Tell me more, tell me more.

“There’s obviously great humour in the show, and great songs,” Mr Cocking said.

“It will be a spectacle. We want to grab the audience at the start of the show and not let go until it’s finished.”

The show will run for 10 nights across three weekends at the Impresario Theatre.
