Investigation continues into Taylors Hill death

Homicide Squad detectives are appealing for public assistance as part of their investigation into the fatal shooting of a man in Taylors Hill on Sunday night.

Police are appealing for public assistance as part of their investigation into the fatal shooting of a man in Taylors Hill on Sunday night.

Emergency services were called to Vaucluse Boulevard about 11.30pm on Sunday, May 7 and located a man in a black BMW sedan with critical injuries.

Ambulance crews treated the man at the scene but were unable to save him.

Police have been told the BMW has been following a second vehicle, a white Mitsubishi sedan, through the Taylors Hill area in the lead up to the shooting.

The Mitsubishi then crashed into bollards blocking vehicle access between Grange Terrace and Johnston Way.

It’s understood a man has gotten out of the Mitsubishi and confronted the male driver and male passenger in the BMW, before firing a shot into the car.

The passenger, who is still to be identified, was struck in the upper body and died at the scene.

The male driver and passenger of the Mitsubishi and the driver of the BMW then separately left the area.

No one else was physically injured during the incident.

Police are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the shooting, however they believe there to be a connection between the four occupants of the two vehicles.

It’s understood a number of vehicles drove past the incident.
