Calling for witnesses

Police are calling for help to identify two men involved in a robbery last November. The pair approached two men riding bikes along Bulmans Road reserve in Melton West on November 25, about 11.20pm. Police allege that one offender pulled a man from his bike and demanded he hand over his phone. Police said one of the men is aged in his 20s and is of African appearance. He was wearing denim shorts, red runners, a black jumper and a black cap.

 

The write stuff

Budding writers can enter the first Moorabool Young Writers’ Awards. The competition is open from March 15 to April 15. Short stories of up to 1000 words will be judged for juniors, intermediate and youth categories. Winners will be announced on June 2 at an afternoon tea held in conjunction with the Peter Carey Short Story Award. www.moorabool.vic.gov.au/libraries

Road death

A driver died on the Bacchus Marsh-Balliang Road in Balliang on February 17. The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene. Police are investigating. Contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
