Teens charged over vandalism
Police have charged nine teenagers after vandalism at several Caroline Springs childcare centres last year. Seven males and two females, aged 16 to 18, were caught allegedly causing damage to the Penguin Childcare Centre on Sunday, December 27. The teenagers have been charged with criminal damage, burglary and theft, and will appear in court at a later date.
Child’s play adds to inspiration
The Bridge Road Children’s and Community Centre has been recognised for its outdoor learning spaces by the Council of Educational Facility Planners. Judges commended the centre’s “flexible design” and use of children’s artwork to decide the colour palette and materials, and plant selection in the outdoor areas. The Victorian Chapter Award for a Landscaping/Outdoor Learning area went to Brand Architects, which partnered with Melton council to deliver a “stimulating and developmentally appropriate” environment for three and four-year-olds.
College to get makeover
Katz Architecture has been appointed by the state government to design a $760,000 upgrade of Melton Secondary College.
