House fire blaze in Melton West

A large house fire broke out in Melton West last night, with the roof of a home going up in flames just before 10pm on August 23.

A property on Westlake Drive was attended to by Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews, who had the blaze under control just after 11pm.

All occupants of the home were confirmed to be evacuated.

Thirty-two firefighters protected neighbouring properties from fire and smoke, using an aerial truck to gain access to the roof of the house.

Ambulance, police and energy company workers also provided assistance at the scene.

The cause of the fire was being investigated this morning.
