An open day is being held in Gordon next weekend for people wanting to adopt, foster or sponsor horses without homes.
Horse Shepherd Equine Sanctuary founder Anne Young said many horses need permanent or part-time homes, and she’s hoping to help them on their way this weekend. Otherwise they will need sponsors, she said.
“We don’t expect people to take the horses on the day,” Ms Young said.
“It’s more about coming and meeting the horses. Our horse trainers will work really hard to make sure the horse is suitable for that particular person … if it turns out the horse isn’t what you want, you can bring it back.”
