Sessions to help small businesses grow

Learning how to grow a small business, finding and accessing resources, and tapping into local support services will be key topics at a special small business event next week.

Public relations and communication expert Kristeene Phelan, who worked for online marketplace Etsy.com, will be the guest speaker.

Organic Place owner Brooke Findley, who works out of the Western Businesss Accelerator and Centre (BACE), will join Ms Phelan to inform local businesses of the support services and resources available to help them grow.

The event will be hosted by Melton council and Western BACE.

Melton mayor Kathy Majdlik said small-business support events were a great way for businesses to network and, ultimately, an employment opportunity for locals looking for jobs.

“The Western BACE is a landmark training and economic development facility that’s changing the face of business in our city by creating an environment in which they can flourish,” she said.

“We are committed to assisting local small businesses to improve their knowledge and skills, and improve their networks and turnover.”

The session will run from 11.45am at the Western BACE, 222 Ferris Road, Melton South, on Tuesday, February 2. Details: 9747 7200 or email businessevents@melton.vic.gov.au
