Melton will host former AFL star Heath Black and comedian Em Rusciano at this week’s youth mental health forum.
The ‘Minds Matter’ forum will be held on May 9 from 6-8.30pm, and aims to help adults, parents, carers and the school community better understand the mental health of young people aged 12 to 25.
An expo of services will also be held before the forum, from 5-6pm. Both events will be held at Brookside College in Caroline Springs.
Experts from headspace and Victoria Police will talk about identifying mental health issues, supporting young people and connecting them to relevant services, while Black and Rusciano will speak about their own battles with mental health.
Registration for the event is essential at www.melton.vic.gov.au/mentalhealthforum
