Health help is here

A new way to improve mental health is coming to Melton, with two local organisations joining forces.

Reclink and Grow have come together to provide valuable support in the community, helping with mental health recovery and personal growth.

The new program helps those recovering from mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks and low mood and as well as those struggling to cope with day to day living, and is open to all and free of charge.

Grow field worker Julie-Anne van Tatenhove said the groups have been operating across Australia for more than 60 years.

“The group members are there for one another,” she said.

“It’s weekly peer support for mental wellness with people coming with a whole range of issues.

“The group is hope-inspiring and offers friendship and practical support”.

“It’s like a toolkit to help you on the way and group members help each other to change and improve.”

Group members meet weekly in Djerriwarrh Community and Education Services, 241 Station Road, Melton at 7pm on Thursday nights.

Those wishing to join can just head along or can call 9528 2977 for more information about the group.
