Some quirky characters will be popping up around Bacchus March in coming weeks in the lead up to the town’s flower and garden show.
Scarecrows Slim and Marigold, the show’s mascots, will be in town to help promote the October 28 and 29 show.
Green-thumbed residents are being encouraged to enter their plants, vegies and flowers to be in the running for prizes, while photographers can have their pictures of trees, gardens and flowers showcased in the photography competition.
Other attractions will include art displays by international sculptor Anu Patel, a basket display, op shop garden art and a plant sale.
Committee member Kate Tubb said there would be plenty going on at the show to keep everyone entertained.
“There will be so much for everyone to enjoy,” she said.
“We are trying to bring in other interests of people into the show, so this year we have the photography competition and the bake-off as well.”
The Bacchus Marsh Horticulture Show will be held at the public hall, Main Street, Bacchus Marsh, on Saturday and Sunday, October 28 and 29.
