The Moorabool Shire Council has made a call out for new tourism events and offered grants to help get them off the ground.
The 2022 Tourism Grants program will offer grants of up to $3000 for tourism events based in the shire area.
The program aims to increase visitation and expenditure throughout the Moorabool Shire by supporting the planning and delivery of new events.
Mayor Cr Tom Sullivan said tourism events were an important contributor to the local economy and important for driving further recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Tourism events encourage visitors to experience the Shire, investing their time and money locally,” Mayor Sullivan said.
“[They] draw visitors from Melbourne, regional cities and further afield, who want to visit Moorabool for a unique and entertaining experience that is not available within their own municipality,
We hope to inspire a growing calendar of authentic tourism events across Moorabool Shire.”
There will be one round of applications with a total pool of $12,400 available, or up to
$3000 maximum per successful applicant.
Applications open 28 March and close 18 April. For more information, visit www.moorabool.vic.gov.au/Services-and-
