Good start to learning

A new childcare centre in Rockbank is proving popular with locals.

Woodlea Early Education opened in the Woodlea estate recently, offering 104 childcare places for children age from six weeks to five years.

Woodlea Early Education spokesperson Maddison Elis said creating a welcoming community in the centre was a major goal.

“Woodlea is such a close-knit community who respect and care for each other and we wanted to become part of such a positive community who shares our values of compassion and respect,” she said. “We want to allow all of the different age groups to come together, allowing siblings, cousins, neighbours and family to see each other during the day to build that sense of community.”

The centre includes outdoor cubby houses and a large yard and an indoor dining hall for the students.

Ms Elis said they planned to work closely with the community, and would have a number of events coming up.

“We are looking at building positive relationships with the existing community, from assisting with all upcoming events, hosting mothers’ groups and playgroups through to utilising the facilities,” she said.
