Bacchus Marsh shoppers and woeful gift wrappers can have their Christmas presents wrapped while donating for a good cause.
Leukaemia Foundation volunteers will set up a gift wrapping station at The Village Bacchus Marsh shopping centre from December 15 to Christmas Eve.
All donations collected will go towards the foundation to fund research as well as provide services to patients and their families. Leukaemia Foundation acting general manager Meaghan Bush encouraged locals to donate a bit of their time this festive season and help out the foundation.
Ms Bush said more than 13,000 Australians would be diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma or another blood disorder by the end of the year.
“That is 35 people diagnosed every day,” she said. “Though treatments have improved, sadly blood cancer is the second biggest cause of cancer death in Australia, claiming more lives each year than breast cancer or melanoma.”
