Melton council is gearing up for Kindergarten Readiness Month, with a series of free information sessions set to help families prepare for three- and-four-year old kindergarten.
Parents and carers can learn about the benefits of kindergarten, how many hours of free kinder they may be eligible for, and how to navigate the registration process with confidence.
Between 17-19 March, families are also being given the opportunity to explore 27 local kindergartens during council’s kindergarten open sessions.
Melton mayor Lara Carli said the evenings are a great chance to meet educators, tour facilities and discover what each kinder has to offer.
“Preschool years play such an important role in building the foundations for lifelong learning, and these sessions give families the confidence and information they need to make the best choice for their child,” cr Carli said.
Information sessions will occur at Fraser Rise Children’s and Community Centre between 6-8pm on Monday 23 February, Melton Library and Learning Hub between 9.30-11.40am on Wednesday 25 February as well as an online session via Microsoft Teams between 10am-12pm on Wednesday 18 March.
