A fundraiser has been organised to help Bluebird House committee members run the not-for-profit drug rehab centre.

Bluebird House was opened a few months ago after a group of Melton and Moorabool residents joined forces to tackle the ice scourge.

But the committee relies solely on fundraising to keep the centre running.

“The response has been really good from the clients,” committee member Amber Farrugia said.

“And the community have been of great support … but the facility is going to be solely dependent on ongoing donations from the community for the ongoing function of the house.”

Ms Farrugia urged people to help out the committee so they “can help others who need and want help [but] are unable to financially provide the care they deserve”.

The fundraiser will be on Saturday, October 24, from 6.30pm, at the St Anne’s Winery, 64 Garrards Lane, Myrniong.

Tickets will cost $85, and can be bought from theplough.com.au/online-store
