The winners will be announced during Volunteer Week, which runs from May 15 – May 21.

“To mark Volunteering Week 2023, and to recognise the enormous contribution that volunteers make

to Fraser, I am inviting nominations for a ‘Fraser Volunteer of 2023’ award and a ‘Fraser Young

Volunteer of 2023’ award,” said Dr. Mulino.

“Every day that I am out and about in the community I see the evidence of the extraordinary

contribution of volunteers. Our lives are so much richer thanks to their hard work,” Mulino.

The MP paid tribute to volunteers providing services in sporting clubs, environmental and transport advocacy and arts groups.

“The cultural groups that organise vibrant celebrations such as the Lunar New

Year festivals and Holi; and much, much more,” he said.

The legislator said volunteering offers so many benefits to people as it gives them an opportunity to make new friends and eases loneliness.

He also said volunteerism gives people a sense of purpose and a feeling of being part of a community.
