Footpath uses recycled material

Moorabool council are using a 100 per cent recycled material, eMesh, on the Aqualink concrete footpath in Bacchus Marsh.

eMesh is an Australian invention that recycles plastic to deliver innovative reinforced concrete. Small, recycled macro synthetic fibres are added to the concrete to replace steel fibres and steel reinforcing mesh.

Environmental benefits of include 93 per cent less C02 emissions, 99 per cent less water and 90 per cent less fossil fuels than steel. For every 10km of path, the council will save 150 tons of C02.
