Farm and land owners in Moorabool and Melton have seen how natural disasters and increasing seasonal variability can threaten water security on their properties.

Residents are being encouraged to attend a webinar about on-farm water security tomorrow to better understand the issue.

Presented by Dairy Extension Officer for Agriculture Victoria, Benita Kelsall, the webinar will discuss on-farm water management options, risks and contingencies to ensure that farms will have water when needed.

The webinar will cover an array of topics, including key threats to water quality and supply, calculating on-farm water requirements, ongoing management and contingencies and water infrastructure for dams, pumps and reticulation.

The event will be held via zoom tomorrow, Wednesday January 19 commencing at 5pm.
