There’s no shortage of fun activities around Melton these school holidays, with dance workshops, sports and open days to brighten up the summer.

This weekend, the Willows Historical Park will come alive for a family fun day, with the lawns taken over with a number of family activities and sports for all ages.

Head down to the Willows from 10am on January 18 and try your hand at cricket, mini golf, football, or Kinder Soft Play, before enjoying a picnic on the lawns.

Melton mayor Lara Carli said fun indoor and outdoor activities on offer around the municipality provided a great chance for children to try some new things.

“The holidays are a time for having fun and making memories and I hope local kids will take the opportunity to learn something exciting and new, make new friends, and spend quality time with the whole family,” Cr Carli said.

“Kids will have impressive new dance moves, artistic flair, and awesome stories about sports games and rockets to take back to the classroom.”

On top of the fun day, council is also running a number of dance workshops, as well as science and technology classes to invigorate the mind.
