Eynesbury Eagles Football Netball Club is hosting a fundraiser to support Exford Primary School in the wake of the tragic bus accident that has rocked the Eynesbury community.
The Eagles are playing a Riddell District Football Netball League Club 18 match against Wallan on Friday, May 19 from 7.30p, at the Eynesbury Recreation Reserve.
The club is inviting community members to get down early from 6.30pm to raise money and show support for those affected.
Community groups have donated food for a barbeque, and all funds raised from it and the canteen will be donated, there will also be cash and card facilities on site to donate directly to the school donation fund.
Eagles president Peter Berry said it’s a difficult time for many families and the school and the club is hoping to “make it that little bit easier by raising some funds for Exford Primary to support their students”.
“Everyone has a connection to Exford Primary, a lot of us have a child that have gone there, a lot of players from the club attend there or have attended in the past,” he said.
“Hopefully we’re able to raise some funds for it. We’re a football netball club, but we are also a part of the community and we want to help support that community.”
Donations for the school fund can also be made online through the clubs website.
