The Great Spring Clean Up is back for 2025, with registrations open now.
The spring clean up is modelled on and operated by Clean Up Australia Day, Australia’s largest day of environmental action that takes place on the first Sunday in March annually.
Pip Kiernan, chair of Clean Up Australia said: “We are helping our volunteers, community allies, local councils and schools organise clean ups in every part of the country. Spring is synonymous with heading outdoors to enjoy the warmer weather, but it is also right before severe weather season kicks in around our country. This makes it a vital time to try and remove as much litter as we can from our waterways and environment.”
The Great Spring Clean Up is open to all, and the perfect opportunity to come together with family, friends, schools, the local community or work colleagues and do your bit to help clean up the environment. Volunteers will receive a free clean up kit, containing gloves, bags and other resources, with packs for individuals, families and community groups available (businesses are asked to pay a small fee to cover costs).
If you are unable to participate, donations to Clean Up Australia are welcome, with 100 per cent of funds raised going directly to empowering Australians to take positive action for the environment and providing free clean up kits.
Registrations are now open at cleanup.org.au
