A mineral spring, near Ballan, has been closed off after “unsafe levels” of E.coli bacteria were found in the water.
Moorabool council issued a warning on its Facebook page about 3pm today, advising people the water at Spargo Creek Mineral Springs was unsafe to drink.
E.coli can cause severe illness, including diarrhoea and vomiting.
Sampling at the mineral springs is continuing.
