Drink driver caught in Rockbank

A man was caught driving over five times the limit in Rockbank early New Years Day.

The Toyota Camry Sedan caught the attention of patrolling police after they witnessed it veering from one side of the ride to the other, braking unnecessarily and going at a snail’s pace at 12.30am.

Police pulled over the 36-year-old driver, with the Werribee man breathalysed, returning an alleged reading of .255.

Officers impounded the man’s vehicle at a cost of $1014.98.

The man’s license was immediately suspended for a period of 12 months, and he can expect to receive a summons for drink driving and other traffic offences.
