The Djerriwarrh Festival is set to light up Melton again this weekend, with the popular event to take over Melton Recreation Reserve on November 9.
The family friendly event attracted over 30,000 people in 2018, and with activities for kids and adults, live music, and entertainment it is set up for another successful year.
A street parade will kick off the celebrations at 11am with a vibrant community spectacle to proceed along High Street, while at the reserve, festival-goers will find the market stalls bursting with wares from local artists and designers, an upgraded kids zone offering a cove of amazing free activities, and a food truck alley.
ARIA Award winners Sneaky Sound System will headline the music for the night, with support coming from The VANNS, Billy Davis & The Good Lords, and the Tom Tuena Band.
Former mayor Bob Turner said the festival was a highlight on the council calendar.
“It’s a major day on our city’s calendar and an event that so many people look forward to every year,” Cr Turner said.
“The festival program is jam-packed with so many entertaining things to do, and I look forward to seeing everyone having a great day out.
“From the colourful street parade to the market, food and live entertainment, it’s good family fun not to be missed.”
A bonfire and fireworks display in the evening (weather permitting) will cap off the festival.
