Day of family fun and eco education

The Friends of Hopetoun Park and Parwan Gorge are hosting a family fun day filled with activities, market stalls and tree planting on Saturday May 14.

Families in Melton and Moorabool are being encouraged to join in a day of learning about how to look after their local environment.

The Friends of Hopetoun Park and Parwan Gorge are hosting a family fun day filled with activities, market stalls and tree planting on Saturday May 14.

Representatives from Southern Rural Water, Melbourne Water, Moorabool Shire, Bacchus Marsh Platypus Alliance, Grow West and Werribee River Association will be in attendance to meet with residents and answer questions.

The event will run from 10am, starting with tree planting and plant giveaways.

There will be kids activities run from 12pm, with interactive water bugs and Platypus Pat joining in the fun.

There will also be talks on local grassland, flora and weed identification and photographic displays.

The event will be held at Hopetoun Park, on the corner of Riverview Drive and Parkside Drive and run until 2pm.
