June Webb has always been a ‘crafty’ woman.
She’s gathering the best of her creations, from booties to embroideries, in preparation for the CWA Art and Crafts Exhibition in Ballan on Friday and Saturday.
“I’m very much looking forward to exhibiting in Ballan,” Mrs Webb says.
“I have some embroidery, crafts and booties which will all be in the exhibition.”
Ballarat and Districts Country Women’s Association traditionally hosts the event in Ballarat, but more than 500 entrants will this year occupy the Mechanics Hall in Ballan for the first time in the exhibition’s 70-year history.
Event spokeswoman Gail Fiander says the event brings together the best artists and crafters in the region.
“The quality of the pieces that will be on display is some of the best you’ll ever see from manga art to knitting to crochet; it will all be there,” she says.
The CWA will be serving up its traditional delights of scones, soup and sandwiches.
The exhibition at the Mechanics Hall is on Friday, 9.30am to 4pm, and Saturday, 9am to 3.30pm.
