Melton council is reaching out for feedback through two new surveys, designed to give residents a voice on their thoughts on the council and improving services.

The first survey will gauge community satisfaction with council services, through an independent research group conducting phone interviews with 800 randomly selected residents in the area over a month period.

City of Melton mayor Goran Kesic said the research gained from the survey would be a “valuable tool”.

“This survey helps us understand how people feel about the many services and facilities Council provides and it also reveals important issues and attitudes held by the community,” Cr Kesic said.

“The data can guide us in service delivery by showing where we are meeting people’s needs as well as any gaps that we can address.”

The council are also seeking responses from the community to help create a new learning strategy, which will aim to support residents to achieve their education goals.

The strategy will aim to improve learning outcomes for the community, attract new learning opportunities to the city and grow the economic and digital capabilities of residents.

Cr Kesic said the strategy will assist the council in creating effective learning opportunities for all of our residents and

making learning fun.

“We want to inspire families, communities and people of all life stages to learn by developing educational opportunities that are inclusive and tailored to the needs of individuals.”

Residents can complete an online survey or attend an in-person or online workshop in June.

The feedback will inform the Learning Strategy vision and actions to assist council with improving local learning opportunities.

Those who participate will go in the draw to win one of five $100 vouchers to a local business.
