Melton residents are being invited to have a coffee, or a cuppa, with a cop.
“Coffee with a Cop” – a joint initiative of Melton police and Woodgrove Shopping Centre – brings officers and the community together for conversations it is hoped will
break down barriers and build strong relationships.
The first session will be on Wednesday (August 1), but there’ll be plenty more opportunities in the coming months to meet local police.
Melton Sergeant Shona O’Connor said the informal sessions were a chance for people to ask questions and raise issues important to them.
“This initiative provides the community and police with an opportunity to meet in a casual environment and discuss safety in the community, perceived issues and for the community to better understand the role of their police,” Sergeant O’Connor said.
“Melton and Caroline Springs police … are always encouraging members of the community to attend and support this great initiative.”
Meet at the Muffin Break, in the food court, on Wednesday, August 1, from 2-4pm for a complementary coffee.
