Bird Walk

Eynesbury Forest is one of Victoria’s largest remaining stands of Grey Box. It is home to over 120 bird species, including vulnerable woodland birds such as Diamond Firetail (pictured), Brown Treecreeper, Southern Whiteface, Speckled Warbler, Zebra Finch, Jacky Winter, Grey Shrike-thrush and Varied Sittella. The forest consists of large numbers of ancient Grey Box trees, many of these have large hollows, making them valuable wildlife habitat. Meet at Eynesbury Discovery Centre at 9am. Bring sturdy shoes, hat, water and binoculars if you have them. Saturday, October 15 from 10am.

The Gap on Graham

The Gap provides a place for Melton youth to hang out, socialise, play games and learn new skills. The centre holds a night for girls aged 10 to 18 years, at the centre, 5 Graham St, Melton, on Wednesday evenings. There is also a drop-in night for anyone aged 12 to 25 years old. The centre will hold car boot market days on Saturday, October 8 and Saturday, November 12 from 10am. Proceeds go towards supporting local youth.
