Colourful fun on the run

Coburn Primary School pupils have put plenty of fun into their latest “fundraiser”.

Prep to grade 6 pupils took part in the Colour Craze fun run last week to raise money for books for the school library.

Principal Vicki Minton said the youngsters enjoyed exercising amid plumes of pigment.

“It was an exceptional afternoon, the weather was perfect and the kids had an absolute blast,” Ms Minton said.

“We have a fun run each year to raise money for our school and we asked our community what they thought we should do this year – and they loved the idea of a colour run-style event.

“It was a lot of fun for the kids … I don’t think they realised how much exercise they were actually doing because they were so excited to get to the next colour station.

“All of our fundraising this year is for books for our library.

“We have 700 children at our school and we need to make sure that we have enough books in our library to go around.”

She said the entire school community, including parents and supporters, turned out for the event.
