The City of Melton held the official opening of the new Cobblebank Indoor Stadium on Saturday.
The event was attended by Mayor Goran Kesic, several other councillors and a variety of local community and sporting groups.
Attendees were able to take a tour of the $31 million stadium as well as enjoy market stalls and many activities for kids.
The new facility contains six multi-purpose courts and also functions as a community hub.
City of Melton mayor Goran Kesic said the council looked forward to welcoming more of the community to the stadium.
“This is a stadium we’re very proud to present to our community and one that is already a hive of activity,” Mayor Kesic said.
Local groups in attendance included Melton Basketball, Melton City Badminton Club, Melton Table Tennis Association, Specialist Hoops Basketball, St Albans Caroline Springs Netball association and more.
The stadium will host regular programs for local families to enjoy, more information is available on the City of Melton website.
