Coaches replace trains

Those travelling beyond Bacchus Marsh on the train are being told to allow for extra travel time with coaches replacing trains for part of the journey on the Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines between Tuesday 18 November and Friday 28 November.

During the 11-day disruption, all services between Bacchus Marsh, Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough will run as replacement coaches, while trains will continue to operate between Southern Cross and Bacchus Marsh. Some coach services will depart earlier than their usual train times, and passengers are urged to check schedules before travelling.

V/Line has advised commuters that bike space is limited on both trains and replacement coaches, and that pets, hot food and hot liquids are not permitted on coach services.

Cold packaged food is allowed, and all drinks must be in secure, spill-proof containers.

A valid myki or paper ticket is required, with passengers reminded to touch on and off to ensure correct fares.

In Melbourne, all replacement coaches will arrive and depart from the Southern Cross Station coach terminal on Spencer Street, opposite Little Bourke Street.

Travellers needing accessibility support are encouraged to call 1800 800 007 ahead of their journey.
