Coaches replace evening trains

Evening train services on the Ballarat line will be replaced by coaches over three nights next month due to maintenance works.

Coaches will replace evening trains for the entire journey between Wendouree and Southern Cross from Sunday 1 March through to the last service on Tuesday 3 March.

On Sunday 1 March, coaches travelling toward Southern Cross Station will replace trains from 8pm through to the last service. Services departing Southern Cross towards Wendouree will be replaced by coaches from 7.30pm onwards.

The 9.15pm Southern Cross to Ararat service on the Ararat line will also be replaced by coaches for the entire journey that same evening.

On Monday 2 March and Tuesday 3 March, coaches will replace trains from Wendouree to Southern Cross from 8pm until the last service, and from Southern Cross to Wendouree from 7pm until the final service.

Passengers are advised to allow an additional 40 minutes for their journey during the disruption.

In Melbourne, replacement coaches will arrive and depart from the Southern Cross Station coach terminal on Spencer Street, opposite Little Bourke Street.

There is limited space for bikes on replacement coaches, and no pets, hot food or hot drinks are permitted onboard. Cold packaged food is allowed, and all drinks must be in secure, spill-proof containers.

Passengers must carry a valid myki or paper ticket and are reminded to touch on and off to ensure the correct fare is charged. Those requiring accessibility assistance are encouraged to call 1800 800 007 prior to travel.
