Classic cars on display for children’s charity

Chevvys and Corvettes, Cobras and Falcons, Toranas and Lincolns … sounds like heaven for car buffs.

The annual Bunnings Cruise Nights, showcasing classic and vintage cars, all for a good cause, comes back next month.

Each year, profits from the cruises go towards a children’s charity.

And although this year’s recipient is undecided, the money will most likely go to the Royal Children’s Hospital or a similar organisation.

More than 100 cars from the 1920s to the ’80s line up at the Cruise Nights, and there’s lots more to see and do as well, event co-organiser Jane Cassar says.

“It’s so good to have somewhere to go on a Friday night and have a look at the work other people do to their cars,” she adds.

“And the kids love looking at them – it’s something they don’t see all the time. And there’s nothing else like this nearby.”

The Cruise Nights start Friday, October 2, from 6-9pm, at the Bunnings Warehouse carpark at 149-169 Barries Road, Melton.

They will run every Friday from October through until March.
