Melton Council is working to keep people connected during life under lockdown by running a series of activities online.
With Melbourne’s lockdown restrictions extended by another fortnight, the council has responded by moving several of its free face-to-face learning and fitness programs online.
People are encouraged to join live classes in everything from dancing, singing and yoga to art, zumba and fitness for beginners.
A suite of online classes and activities is also available to access any time via the Melton Learning YouTube channel.
Melton mayor Kathy Majdlik said lockdown was a good time to try out a new activity remotely.
“These are the same high-quality programs we’d usually deliver, and now you can access them easily from home,” Cr Majdlik said.
“It’s a good opportunity to learn something new or improve your health and wellbeing.
“Whether you’re into cooking or dancing, want to increase your fitness, or try some arts and crafts with the kids, we have just the thing to keep your mind and body active during lockdown.”
