A Melton organisation will be spreading some mid-year festive cheer next week at a Christmas in July event, with all welcome to attend.
GROW Church Diggers Rest is holding a Christmas Cafe Night on Saturday July 30, with hot food for sale to raise money for children in need.
The church runs a feeding program in several locations across the Philippines for struggling youth, which assists about 400 children.
Church member Leonie Willett-Weyers said the program was giving to a fill a need.
“If we see a need we want to feel the need and if we can give, that’s why we give,” she said.
The fundraiser night will have carols, quizzes and light entertainment for the whole family, as well as homemade soups and other food for sale to enjoy.
Grow Church is based in St Albans, but has branches in both Aintree and Diggers Rest.
