Chill out with winter holiday activities

Kids and teens are sorted with activities and events to keep them busy these winter school holidays.

Melton council’s vacation care program is open to all primary school-aged children and includes an excursion to Scienceworks, a World Cup-themed day and cooking incursions.

Melton and Caroline Springs libraries are hosting free activities including animation workshops, recycled art and craft, mini maestros and a chess tournament.

Teenagers won’t miss out on the fun with laser tag and indoor rock climbing, a ghost and street art tours offered as part of the teen program.

The Get Activated Stay Motivated introduces kids aged between 1 and 12 years to a range of new sports.

Melton Mayor Bob Turner said the affordable school holiday programs were a fun way to keep kids and teens active and entertained during their break.

“The school holiday activities promote learning, healthy lifestyles and encourage the youth in our community to socialise and meet like-minded people,” Cr Turner said. “Our vacation care program is also a big help to busy parents and guardians of young children who still need to work through the holidays.”

Bookings required.
