New rules from the state government around COVID restrictions came into effect overnight for Melton and Moorabool residents, and for the rest of Victoria.
Anyone who tests positive on a Rapid Antigen Test will need to isolate for seven days and notify their contacts.
From today, any positive results will need to be reported to the department of health via a webform or the hotline. This will ensure support can be provided where needed.
A density cap of one person per two square metres has been introduced at hospitality venues, including restaurants, cafes, pubs, nightclubs and other venues.
Health Minister Martin Foley said: “Now is the right time to introduce these sensible density quotients in high-risk indoor entertainment and hospitality settings, to reduce the risk of superspreader events that can infect hundreds.”
