Ceramics on show in new exhibition

An impressive international collection of ceramics will be on display at Trio Art Studio and Gallery during September.

The Kyneton-based gallery’s first exhibition of the 2025-26 season is Grounded 2, a follow up to last year’s exhibition that will be featured throughout and after the Kyneton Daffodil and Arts Festival.

Gallery director and artist Maxine McKee said it’s a show not to be missed.

“Visitors can come and see three spaces,” she said.

“One space is all vintage handmade studio pottery and glass, as well as a small exhibition of my work.”

The exhibition promises to be a captivating event, showcasing an expanded vintage gallery and introducing new handmade works inspired by European and Asian traditions.

It will focus on themes like plant resilience, original glaze techniques, and textured surfaces, which feature alongside the richly coloured ceramics and sculptures that challenge traditional forms and bring contemporary themes into the artworks.

This year, the exhibition will also feature a variety of special tea bowls and bottle forms, each with unique glazes.

Featured artists include Bernadette Skinner, Belinda Nailon, Mark Mason and McKee.

“Its a really worthwhile visit … it’s in a historical homestead, and people can also see the beautiful views to Mount Macedon,” McKee said.

She said all pieces will also be for sale.

Grounded 2 will be showing at Trio Art Studio and Gallery, 98 Trio Road, Kyneton until Sunday, September 21.

The gallery is open everyday from 10am to 4pm.
