Kurunjang locals have a new space to get outdoors and stay active with Melton mayor Lara Carli and Melton MP Steve McGhie unveiling new major

upgrades at Centenary Reserve on Friday, August 4.

Council completed $665,000 in upgrade works across the parks, with a $300,000 state government contribution, following an extensive community co-design last year.

Community feedback said locals wanted a barbeque and picnic space to spend time with friends, a basketball half-court and an enhanced play space including a slide, more swings

and nature play.

The upgraded park also features new plants and trees, new playground equipment, seating, shade structure, an improved pedestrian path network and improved turf kick-about spaces.

Melton mayor Lara Carli said modern play spaces, nature play, social sport and picnic areas make our local parks a place for everyone.

“We are always working towards building inclusive and accessible community infrastructure like parks and playgrounds all across our growing region,” she said.
