This weekend residents will have the chance to celebrate the local botanic garden with a day filled with fun.
Melton Botanic Garden Day will be held on Sunday May 29, hosted by the Friends of the Melton Botanic Garden organisation.
The day will consist of guided tours of the garden, train rides on the Bacchus Marsh Lions Club train, a plant nursery, activities for kids and a performance from the Greater Western Community Band.
The event will mark national Botanic Gardens Day, which will host more than 100 botanic gardens across Australia and New Zealand holding celebratory events.
Botanic Gardens Day is an initiative from the organisation Botanic Gardens Australia and New Zealand (BGANZ), with the event first launched by the Gardening Australia television program host Costa Georgiadis.
The event in Melton will run from 10am, for more information visit https://www.fmbg.org.au/
