Christmas is coming and Melton residents are in for a fabulous evening of festive entertainment at next month’s Carols by Candlelight.

The free December 2 event at Hannah Watts Park draws hundreds each year to enjoy performances by local primary schools, choirs and musicians.

Children’s entertainers The Mik Maks will take the stage this year while Santa’s craft village and the face-painting will keep youngsters of all ages entertained.

Melton mayor Bob Turner said the Carols by Candlelight was a highlight of the council events calendar.

“It’s fantastic to see the community coming together for a night of singing, laughter and happiness,” Cr Turner said.

“Christmas is the perfect time to reflect on the past year, and how lucky we are to be living in the City of Melton.

“Carols by Candlelight will have something for everyone; it’s an event not to be missed.”

Residents are encouraged to bring a picnic and food vans will be on site.

The event starts at 6.30pm and flame-free candles will light up the park as professional performers encourage everyone to join in singing Christmas carols and songs. Details: here
