Car fires spark hunt for arsonists

Police are on the hunt for two people in relation to four car fires in Melton in the past two months.

Melton Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the suspicious fires, the first of which took place in Kurunjang about 10.15pm on December 3 when a Holden Commodore was set alight in a driveway on Roderick Drive.

A Honda Civic was set alight in the driveway of a Perry Street house on December 17, about 2.05am.

On January 18, a Holden Commodore was set alight in the driveway of a Henry Street house about 9am.

Security footage shows a flash of light coming from a Fay Street house before two people are seen running from the scene where a Holden Commodore was set alight in a driveway on January 24 about 2.28am.

No one was injured in any of the fires.

Investigators have released the CCTV of the two people they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.
