UPDATE
More than 80 homes in Maddingley will be out of power until this evening after a car ran into a power pole this afternoon.
A Powercor spokesman said workers were at Doolan Street, Maddingley were still inspecting the underground power lines near the pole.
CFA have deemed the area safe, but power to homes has been cut as a precaution.
A CFA spokeswoman said the brigade received the call at 12.15pm today and were working on battling the blaze on Doolan Street.
“It appears to be a car fire on top of a high voltage power line,” she said.
There were no reported injuries.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics weren’t called to the scene.
