Calling all paws for leap into big Million Paws Walk

Are you enthusiastic? Highly organised? Obsessed with your pooches?

Then RSPCA Victoria might have just the right chance for you to step up to the plate. The organisation needs a dog-loving volunteer to lead this year’s Million Paws Walk in Melton.

The walk co-ordinator will be responsible for ensuring everything goes to plan, including arranging permits and approvals, sourcing local sponsorship, recruiting and organising volunteers, bumping in the event, supervising, then bumping out at the end of the day.

Events and community fundraising manager Barbara Charan said the aim is to make this year’s Million Paws Walk a big success.

“Last year’s Million Paws Walk at Navan Park was a great success, and we’d love to provide the opportunity for the Melton community to show their support for animal welfare again this year,” Ms Charan said.

“Million Paws Walk wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of the community and volunteers, who help us raise the vital funds needed to care for the lost, abandoned and rescued animals that come into our care.”

This year’s walk will be on Sunday, May 21. Anyone interested in volunteering can email mpw@rspcavic.org.au or call 9224 2210.
