Bus operator Kinetic is inviting applications for its new community grants program.
Titled the Moving Communities Fund, Kinetic is offering grants of up to $10,000 for community and not-for-profit projects in the first round of the program.
With depots throughout Melbourne, including in Thomastown and Sunshine West, Kinetic is offering the grants to community and not-for-proft organisations and other initiatives in all of its service areas.
Kinetic Group chief executive Michael Sewards said the grants program is designed to support local organisations and projects.
“We are incredibly privileged to be in a position to support the outstanding work being done by community groups and this fund is all about increasing that positive impact,” Mr Sewards said.
“Moving Communities will ensure we can also amplify and enhance the great work being done at a grass-roots level by local sporting clubs, registered charities and not-for-profit organisations,” he said.
Kinetic Group Melbourne general manager Tom Kinsey said that the company is interested in seeing applications from a range of groups.
“We want to hear from as many community groups as possible about the fantastic work they are doing and how we can support them in achieving their goals – whether that’s $1000 to help a sporting team with travel or a larger sum to improve facilities to make them more accessible,” Mr Kinsey said.
Applications close on Wednesday, October 9, and successful recipients will be notified in November.
